Since 2008, DZ BANK has been a participant in the UN Global Compact, which was initiated in 2000 by the UN Secretary-General at that time, Kofi Annan. His vision was that businesses should play an active role in developing a more sustainable and more equitable global economy. DZ BANK would also like to have a part in this.

We are therefore committed to the ten principles of the UN Global Compact. Under these principles, we will ...

  1. respect internationally proclaimed human rights and promote compliance with these rights within our sphere of influence,
  2. make sure that we are not complicit in human rights abuses,
  3. uphold the right of our employees to freedom of association and the effective recognition of their right to collective bargaining,
  4. eliminate all forms of forced and compulsory labor,
  5. work with others to achieve the effective abolition of child labor,
  6. eliminate any discrimination in respect of employment and occupation,
  7. adopt a precautionary approach to environmental challenges,
  8. undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility,
  9. encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.
  10. work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.
