One of the key areas of sponsorship is DZ BANK’s support for the chair in financial engineering and derivatives established by the Bank at the Institute for Finance, Banking and Insurance at the University of Karlsruhe. The current incumbent of the chair is Professor Marliese Uhrig-Homburg.

Apart from the endowed chair at the University of Karlsruhe, the DZ BANK Foundation also supports the European Business School in Oestrich-Winkel (EBS). EBS is the oldest and one of the most prestigious private business schools in Germany. The DZ BANK Foundation specifically works in cooperation with the EBS Foundation. DZ BANK, in collaboration with the German Benefactors’ Association for Science and Learning, is also providing funding for a chair in The Economics of Financial Institutions at the European Business School (EBS), Wiesbaden, Germany. The chair has been awarded to Dr. Falko Fecht.

The DZ BANK Foundation also provides financial support for research projects covering banking and financial markets theory at other universities, e.g. at Frankfurt University.
