Social commitment
Help and sponsorship
Our employees are involved in a variety of voluntary work. DZ BANK supports their dedication, for example by allowing them special vacation days. Our charitable work focuses on children and young people in need.
Helping the weakest members of society – children and young people in need – has been at the heart of DZ BANK’s corporate social responsibility work for many years. One of the areas on which we concentrate is supporting sick children and their relatives by donating regularly to appropriate associations and foundations.
We are also keen to strengthen active citizenship. DZ BANK and other companies in the DZ BANK Group have therefore provided financial support to ‘Aktive Bürgerschaft’ since 1997. This association promotes the concept of citizens’ foundations in Germany.
In 2000, DZ BANK employees set up the DZ BANK microfinance fund, which now has assets of €170,000 managed by employees on a voluntary basis. The money is used to fund microfinance institutions that grant micro-loans to poor but economically active women and men. The funded projects are based in Algeria, Mali, Namibia, and Togo. DZ BANK supports the fund by making regular donations and issuing secured guarantees.
